Warranty & Care
Every Kinwud piece carries three years of structural cover on the frame and the joinery, honoured at the showroom that sold it.

What the three years cover
The parts that hold the piece up, and the work that joined them:
- The frame and the load-bearing panels, against splitting, warping or failing in normal household use.
- The joinery: a joint that opens, works loose or comes apart.
- Hydraulic lifts, drawer runners and hinges we fitted, against mechanical failure.
- Delamination or lifting of a veneer or a laminate we applied.
Cover runs for three years from the date on your bill and stays with the piece for as long as the original buyer owns it. There is nothing to register and no card to keep: the bill is the warranty.
What it does not cover
A finished surface is a wearing surface, and solid timber is a natural material. The following are not faults and are not covered:
- Normal wear: scuffs, scratches, dents, and the softening of an edge that gets used every day.
- Colour movement. Solid teak and sheesham deepen with light and age, and two boards will not move at exactly the same rate. This is the timber behaving correctly.
- Small variation in a laminate or a sprayed finish between one batch and the next, and between the piece delivered and the piece on the showroom floor.
- Grain, knots and figure varying from the photograph or from the showroom piece.
- Damage from water, heat, direct sun, a damp wall, or a room left closed and unventilated.
- Damage from misuse, overloading, standing on a piece, or moving it while loaded.
- Fabric and upholstery wear: pilling, fading, stretching, and marks from spills. Foam softens with use; that is what foam does.
- Anything altered, repaired or refinished by somebody who is not us.
- Pieces bought second-hand, and pieces used commercially rather than in a home.
Upholstery and fittings
The frame under a sofa carries the full three years, the same as any other frame we build. The soft parts do not: fabric, leatherette, foam and webbing carry one year against a manufacturing fault, which means a seam that fails or a foam that collapses, rather than a cover that has been sat on for a year.
Mirrors and glass are checked before they leave the works and again on delivery. Once the delivery is signed for, breakage is not covered.
How to claim
Go back to the floor that sold you the piece. If that is ours, it is the showroom on Supriya Cinema Road in Bettiah; if you bought through a dealer, it is theirs, and the claim is still ours to settle behind them.
Send a photograph of the problem and a photograph of your bill on WhatsApp to +91 88779 27486, or use the contact form and pick warranty as the subject. Tell us roughly when it started and what the piece stands on.
We will look at it, and then we repair, replace the part, or replace the piece, in that order and at our choice. Where the claim is good, the work and the transport are on us. Where a visit finds no fault covered here, we will tell you what it will cost to put right before we do anything.
Delivery and assembly
Pieces go out on our own trucks with two people to set them up in the room they belong in. Check the piece before you sign: transit damage is ours to put right, and it is far easier to settle on the day than a week later.
Looking after it
None of this is a condition of the warranty. It is simply what makes a piece last:
- Dust with a dry or barely damp soft cloth, along the grain. Nothing abrasive, no thinner, no ammonia, no all-purpose spray cleaner.
- Wipe a spill straight away rather than letting it sit. Water left on a polish will mark it.
- Use a mat under anything hot and a coaster under anything wet.
- Keep a piece out of direct sun and away from a heater. Both will lift a finish and pull the colour unevenly.
- Lift furniture to move it. Dragging is what opens a joint.
- Turn and plump loose cushions every week or two so one seat does not take all the wear.
- A laminate or a PU finish wants nothing more than the damp cloth. A wax polish once or twice a year keeps a solid timber finish alive, and the counter will tell you which one suits your piece before you buy any.
Your rights in law
This warranty is given in addition to your rights under Indian consumer law, and nothing on this page takes any of them away.
A question about a specific piece is quickest answered at the counter. Ring +91 88779 27486, write to hello@kinwud.com, or come in and show us.
