A factory of our own
since 2022.
Kinwud is a brand of Richa Industries. The company was registered in January 2022, but our family has been in the furniture business since 1982, and what we learned across those four decades about customers, materials and what a room actually needs is what Kinwud is built on.

Board in at one end.
A finished piece at the other.
There is no third party in the middle of a Kinwud piece. The board that comes off the truck and the wardrobe that lands in your bedroom are handled by the same set of people, under the same roof, on the same floor.
The yard
Everything a piece is made of comes in through this gate and is checked before it is stacked: pre-laminated particle board and MDF for the bedroom range, sawn hardwood and teak for the frames and the dining sets. Nothing is cut until it has been looked over.
The panel line
Panels are squared on the sliding saw and edge-banded on all four sides before they ever reach a carcase. Two people work every sheet, because a panel that goes through square is a door that still shuts in five years, and a sealed edge is a board that does not swell.
The bench
Carcases are assembled, drawers fitted and hardware hung by hand, then the piece goes next door to be finished and checked over. It leaves on our own truck, with two people to set it up in the room it belongs in.
What we hold to
The parts you will never see
are the parts we argue about.
A finish hides almost anything for about two years. Four rules decide what a Kinwud piece is like years after it lands in the room, and none of them are visible on the showroom floor.

Every edge banded
A panel is only as good as its edge. Every cut edge is banded before it reaches a carcase, which is what keeps damp out of a board and a corner from chipping.

Hardware is not the place to save
Soft-close runners, gas struts, hinges and locks are chosen for the piece and fitted here. They are the parts a household touches a thousand times a year.

One standard, whoever is buying
The piece built for a dealer floor in another district is the piece built for the showroom here. There is no second grade.

Three years of structural cover on the frame and the joinery, honoured at the counter that sold it, by the people who made it.
How it grew
Four decades, one trade.
Kinwud is the newest name on a road our family started down in 1982. Every machine on the floor was bought out of work already done, which is why it took this long and why it is still ours.
